With sorrow we are looking at the pandemic and the outcome in
Zambia (14.500 infected/332 dead) and Germany (285.000/ 961). All
area of civil society are affected, but within the german
population only 80% agree with protection concepts, ordered by
administration because they restrict personal rights and freedom.
The infections are rising (more than 2000 per day) but they are on
a level, our health system can manage. Looking forward to fall and
cold season, when people have to stay in closed rooms, more
protection is needed. Medication and vaccine in needed extend for
the whole world will be available may be at mid of next year.
People in Germany are tired of the restricts because we had the
last 2 month, while summer, some openings for open air restaurants
and events.

The pandemic is a worldwide issue and it can only fighted in
solidarity and respect.

German churches had less ideas how to react in the pandemic,
because services and mass were not allowed because of infection
risk. Lay communities builded prayer communities and
house-churches like the first christians. This was supported by
digital communication services. But most of the bishops and
priests remain sceptic about this development. Church vistors in
Germany prefer to consume and not to participate activly. The
pandemic is also a crisis of church.

The upcoming 2nd wave will challenge : How to celebrate christmas
with socialdistancing and the local carnival? Creative ideas in
church and society are needed. we saw the video fo holyspirits
mask drive campaign while in Germany people demonstrte against
mask wearing.

However, we hope to stay in good partnership with our Friends and
the people in the diocese of Monze. We will continue, what started
25 years ago as an idea of a zambian bishop and a german school
chaplan. With gratefulness we are looking back to a successful
partnership with intercultural exchange. We are glad to continue
with you and hope to find good ways of inspiring communication and
sharing and motivated people to join in this idea.

Stay save and be blessed

Guido
